METHOD OF OBTAINING 1, N-HEXAMETHYLPOLYDIMETHYL SILOXANES,

Abstract

A method is proposed for obtaining 1,n-hexamethylpolydimethyl siloxanes which consists of the fact that polydimethylcyclosiloxanes are polymerized with the theoretical amount of alpha, omega-potassium-oxypolydimethylsiloxane at a temperature of 120C and the polymerization product is subsequently neutralized with trimethylchlorosilane. This yields a polymer with prefixed properties.
