FUNDAMENTAL EQUATIONS OF THE THEORY OF ELASTIC SHELLS,

Abstract

A method is presented for the solution of the threedimension problem of the theory of elasticity for a body which has the form of a thin shell, by means of which it is possible in a relatively simple way to construct a self-adjoint system of differential equations of equilibrium for the shell of arbitrary configuration and varying thickness, without in so doing having recourse to any simplified hypotheses.
