A SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF PROCYON.

Abstract

A summary is given of spectrophotometric studies of the F54 subgiant Procyon. The investigation involves a 'fine analysis' of equivalant lines of spectral lines, utilizing a model atmosphere, with the primary aim of determining the abundance of as large a number of chemical elements as possible. Also reported is an investigation of the possible use of non-local thermodynamic equilibrium techniques in the analysis of the spectra of Procyon.
