SOLUBLE PROTEINS OF FRESH HUMAN BONE AND DENTIN.

Abstract

Albumin and beta globulin (transferrin) were present and easily extracted from fresh human bone and dentin chips. Other normal blood proteins were absent. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) removed additionally 1 mucopolysaccharide and 3 protein fractions. These components were considered indigenous to the calcified tissues. Collagen or collagen-like organic matrices are freed of extraneous proteins during demineralization with EDTA. (Author)
