ARC HEATING TECHNIQUES FOR A SHOCK TUBE DRIVER,

Abstract

A study of the feasibility of arc heating as a means of increasing the sound speed in the driver gas in a shock tube was made. The facilities and the equipment used for the experiments are described, as are the operational procedures. The arc unit and its characteristics were investigated, and the results of the experiments with the arc heated shock tube are described. (Author)
