Vaporization of Compounds and Alloys at High Temperatures. Part 24. Mass Spectrometric Determination of the Stability of Gaseous Molybdates, Tungstates, Molybdites and Tungstites of Magnesium, Calcium, Strontium, and Tin

Abstract

A number of ternary oxides have been identified in the gas phase by mass spectrometry, while vaporizing MgO, CaO, SrO and SnO2 + Sn from Mo and W crucibles. The approximate stabilities of the gaseous molecules MgMoO4, CaMoO4, SrMoO4, MgWO4, CaWO4, SrWO4, SrMoO3, CaWO3, CaMoO3, SnWO4 and Sn2WO5 were deduced from the measurements. The dissociation energies (kcal/mole) into gaseous oxides are presented.
