REMARKS ON THE EXTREME EIGENVALUES OF TOEPLITZ FORMS ASSOCIATED WITH ORTHOGONAL POLYNOMIALS,

Abstract

The extreme eigenvalues of the truncated Toeplitz matrices associated with certain orthogonal polynomials were studied. In particular, certain comparison theorems enable one to extend the results of Hirschman for the classical orthogonal polynomials. (Author)
