ON A POSSIBLE METHOD FOR MEASURING ELECTRON DENSITY IN THE IONOSPHERE,

Abstract

A possible method of measuring the number of free electrons per unit volume is to find the dielectric constant of the ionosphere between two parallel plates which constitute the capacitative element in a resonant circuit. The elementary theory of such a system is presented and some of the difficulties are discussed.
