RAMO-WOOLDRIDGE GENERAL RESEARCH PROGRAM, 1959. B. ARTIFICIAL METEORS.

Abstract

A report on the research done on electrostatic acceleration of charged particles is presented. The technical aspects of accelerating ballistic projectiles by electric fields and the operation of a 120 kv accelerator were discussed in previous reports. It was demonstrated that particles having dimensions of a few microns could be efficiently accelerated to 2 km/sec or so at modest voltage levels.
