GUIDE TO THE LITERATURE OF ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS, AND THE PHYSICAL SCIENCES.
Abstract
The second edition is a selected bibliography which emphasizes the areas of science and engineering of primary importance to staff members of the Applied Physics Laboratory. The first edition included material published from 1953 through 1959. The second edition updates the material through 1963. The abstracting journals and indexes are listed alphabetically by title. Periodicals are arranged by subject and listed alphabetically by title in each subject category. In every case, the date of the first issue and publisher is included in the citation. Reference works are organized not by subject but by type of materials, such as dictionaries and glossaries, encyclopedias, handbooks and manuals, and mathematical tables. Items are listed alphabetically by author; citations include author, title, edition, place, publisher, and date of publication. General books are organized by subject and listed alphabetically by author, with the same bibliographic information as is cited for reference materials. The author index, a new feature in the second edition, is included to facilitate the use of the bibliography. (Author)
