LECTURE NOTES ON A COURSE ON WAVE PROPAGATION IN INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA.

Abstract

The objective of this course was to introduce the graduate student to some of the more important methods used in analyzing the propagation of waves in inhomogeneous media. Since the basic methods are the same, whether one deals with electromagnetic waves, or, say, sound waves, the material of this course was presented with very limited reference to any particular physical wave type. The emphasis was on generality rather than on specialty. (Author)
