LASER MATERIALS RESEARCH. PART II. NEW MATERIALS.
Abstract
The objective of this phase of the LASER Materials Research Program was the development of new LASER MATERIALS. Two new LASER hosts, Gd2O3 and La2O3, were developed during the contract period and data on LASER operation with Nd+3 as the active ion is presented. Crystal growth problems are discussed, and spectroscopic data on various additives are given. Studies of the growth of several binary oxide hosts system, together with preliminary spectroscopic data, are also discussed. (Author)
