WATER INTAKE AND RESUSCITATION EQUIPMENT FOR PROTECTIVE MASKS

Abstract

This report discusses the development and production of drinking equipment and resuscitation capability for soldiers who are wearing service protective masks while giving aid to battlefield casualties (in a chemical biological contaminated atmosphere). A new developmental model has been produced, and three units developed previously have been tested for leakage. Dioctyl phthalate (DOP) smoke was used to determine leakage. There was good correlation between the results of the DOP smoke test and the electronegative gas detector-freon gas test described in a previous report.
