INVESTIGATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC AND THERMAL EFFECTS IN SUPERCONDUCTING GENERATORS.

Abstract

The work during this second quarter consisted of performing test runs after shakedown tests of the thermal and electrical effects in leads test apparatus; and procurement and instruction of the heatings effects in a superconduc tor test apparatus. Test runs of various lead materials were conducted in both liquid nitrogen and liquid helium. The test apparatus for the heating effect in a superconductor has been built up and balanced with a dummy magnet in place of the real one. (Author)
