AIRBORNE INVESTIGATION OF ATMOSPHERIC TURBULENCE.

Abstract

In atmospheric turbulence a (-5/3) power law behavior of the energy spectrum was shown by experiment to exist over a considerable range of wave numbers. This range can exceed three decades under conditions of intense dissipation. Proof was given of the feasibility of airborne hot-wire anemometry as a new experimental technique.
