CRITERIA AND TRANSFER OF TRAINING.

Abstract

It was hypothesized that task approach might be the more salient feature of transfer of training early in an easy task, whereas with a more difficult task, the task content is a greater determiner of the early course of the learning in the transfer situation. Here the effectiveness of the task approach does not become apparent until somewhat later. In order to investigate these hypotheses further, it was thought advisable to study a task where the content remained relatively constant but where there was the possibility of using several different approaches to performing the task.
