FRACTURE CHARACTERISTICS OF STRUCTURAL METALS.
Abstract
The correspondence between plain strain fracture toughness values obtained from various test methods was evaluated for AISI 4340 steel over a range of material thickness and strength levels. Attempts were made to qualitatively determine the degree of correlation between the various tests and the conditions which may contribute to uncertainty in the evaluation parameter. (Author)
