AN EMPIRICAL TESTING PROGRAM FOR MODELS OF INFORMATION STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEMS.

Abstract

A small scale experimental program was undertaken to compare the efficiency of a retrieval system based on a Boolean model with that of a system based on a negation-free or uncomplemented model. The results of the experiment are described.
