H,H COUPLING IN DIENE-IRON CARBONYL COMPLEXES.

Abstract

Attention is called to the existence and importance of the effects of the non-planarity of C and H atoms on the proton spectra of diene-iron carbonyl complexes. It is shown that nuclear magnetic resonance data, particularly the H,H coupling constants, are compatible with 1,4 addition of the Fe to the diene to form a non-planar complex.
