SYNTHESIS OF SEQUENTIAL SWITCHING NETWORKS.

Abstract

This report presents results of studies in the synthesis of sequential switching networks. Topics covered are the synthesis of permutation machines with threshold elements, in particular one threshold element per memory element; a method of synthesis in which the combinational logic of any sequential circuit may be realized by means of a cascaded arrangement of S-input, S-output logic blocks (S denotes number of state variables). That approach has applicability in integrated circuit realization of computers. Other topics are in the synthesis of sequential switching circuits in shift-register form. (Author)
