STUDY AND EVALUATION OF SPECIAL LEAK TEST INSPECTION EQUIPMENT.

Abstract

This report is a study of various industrial nondestructive leak detecting equipment for ordnance ammunition items such as fuzes, cartridge actuated devices and cartridges. A physical investigation was made of the bubble counter system, the bubble indicator system, and the differential pressure system. Only a literary investigation was made of the trace gas system. Of the systems evaluated, the pressure indicator system was found to be most suitable for working with small sealed items of ordnance as well as being simple and speedy in operation. However, further test must be conducted before conclusive results can be obtained. (Author)
