STATUS OF TITANIUM CASTINGS.

Abstract

The state of the art has not yet developed to the point where precision castings of titanium are being produced comparable with conventional metals cast in investment molds. Molten titanium is too reactive to be cast in conventional investment molds. However, the capability does exist for the production of castings of high quality, and Impel castings could be considered as being precision castings.
