DRAFT PROGRAM DESCRIPTION FOR RADAR AND RADIOMETRIC LUNAR SURFACE STUDIES
Abstract
This report was prepared in response to the question, 'What information on the nature of the lunar surface, having an important bearing on attempts to land man on the moon, can be gotten from earth-based radar and radiometric systems.' The program in radio selenography described would involve the use of some of the most powerful radars, equipped with the largest antennas in existence today, to make the measurements over a wide range of wavelengths, and with varying degrees of resolution. A summary of results to be expected is presented as is an estimate of the time required to carry out the several portions of the program.
