OCCUPANCY EXERCISE RESEARCH GUIDE: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE RESEARCH USE OF THE SHELTER EXERCISE FOR TRAINING

Abstract

An occupancy exercise may be defined as a planned portion of a civil defense training course in which students are brought together for an extended period of time to experience some of the conditions of shelter living. The purpose of the document is to present guidelines for obtaining research data from occupancy training exercises. It is intended for an audience of persons who are knowledgeable about shelter management but who have had little or no formal training in behavioral science research.
