MANIPULATORS AND SPECIAL DEVICES,

Abstract

The important factors involved in the performance of work in the deep ocean are discussed, and the require ments for special devices which may be used to enhance the efficiency of this work are outlined. The basic requirements of observations and manipulation point to specific needs for technological developments but do not call for any extensive program of fundamental research. (Author)
