U. S. ARMY REQUIREMENTS FOR TITANIUM ALLOYS WITH RESPECT TO VEHICULAR APPLICATIONS. ALPHA-BETA TITANIUM ALLOY

Abstract

A survey is made of the problems which beset use of titanium in vehicles. Information is presented regarding experiences with regard to the costs of procuring titanium and fabricating prototypes over the past several years. Comparisons of estimated costs for titanium vs. steel and/or aluminum in a light armor vehicle application are included.
