STUDY OF PICTORIAL DATA ANALYSIS CONCEPTS AND TECHNIQUES.
Abstract
The problem of developing rules for subdividing complex pictures into 'uniform' regions is discussed. Experiments are described in which rules of this type applicable to 'one-dimensional' pictures are derived from an analysis of observers' subdivision preferences. (Author)
