PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE, TRANSISTOR, VHF, SILICON, POWER (5W-70MC).

Abstract

This report is a summary of the work performed under the Production Engineering Measure contract for a transistor delivering 5 watts output at 70 mc. It covers the history and general performance of the contract. Advances in the device and package design are discussed as well as process improvements which were instituted. A description is given of special fabrication and test equipment necessary to the successful accomplishment of the contract objectives. The pilot run is summarized in terms of performance achieved and available capacity of the pilot production line. Test results of the preproduction samples and the final acceptance samples are given. An appendix to the report presents the information necessary to the reproduction of the pilot run and includes input parameters, a flow chart and a process manual. (Author)
