CERTAIN PHYSIOLOGICAL SHIFTS IN THE HUMAN ORGANISM DURING ACCLIMATIZATION IN THE INTRACONTINENTAL REGIONS OF ANTARCTICA,

Abstract

In the central regions of Antarctica man falls into extremely difficult and unusual conditions: very low temperatures coexist with low atmospheric pressure and the polar night. To study the effect of these local conditions on the human organism, observations were conducted on those who wintered at the intracontinental stations, Vostok 1 in 1957 and Vostok 2 in 1959.
