PROPERTIES OF BUOYANT MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES.

Abstract

This report is directed at furnishing information on the various kinds of materials which can be employed for the construction of flotation devices, a description of typical float structures comprised of the materials listed and generalized mathematical relations for calculating the buoyancy and related parameters of a structure in any form and combination of materials. The data are restricted to properties that are most frequently employed in design and analytical studies and for which reasonably reliable values can be obtained.
