IONIZATION OF SUPERSONIC STREAM OF MERCURY VAPOR BY A BEAM OF HYDROGEN IONS,

Abstract

The possibility of obtaining multicharged ion beams from a plasma formed by the ionization of a supersonic stream of mercury vapor by a beam of hydrogen ions is investigated. It is shown that a beam current is limited by the space charge in the region between the ionization zone and the suction probe. (Author)
