A STUDY OF SURFACE PHENOMENA ON ORGANIC SOLIDS.

Abstract

The background adsorption of the volumetric system was carefully evaluated as a preliminary to adsorption studies on organic solid powders. Background adsorption on the glass walls was reduced to a low value by coating the surface with silicone fluid. The adsorption of krypton and ammonia under these conditions was then determined in order to establish correction factors. (Author). An appendix summarizing studies on diffusion in anthracene crystals is included.
