NONPARAMETRIC LIFE TEST SAMPLING PLANS.
Abstract
Sampling plans for truncated life tests based on ex potential, normal, lognormal, gamma, etc., have all been treated in the literature. These assume that prior information on the form of the distribution is available. This report presents non-parametric life test sampling plans based on percentiles under assumptions concerning only the failure rate, either increasing or decreasing, as well as plans based on the mean life. Tables are given to determine required sample sizes for a given protection. (Author)
