RESEARCH IN MACHINE TRANSLATION. RUSSIAN TO ENGLISH.

Abstract

Research has been continued on the aspects of mechanical translation which contribute towards the creation of a meaningful finished product. The Russian-English mathematical glossary and text tapes have been corrected and updated. The grammar coding has also been modified somewhat in order to make it suit better the needs of further syntactic processing. New programs to facilitate dictionary and text tape updating have also been written, as well as programs which complete the automation of the processing of raw text through syntactic analysis. A start has also been made in investigating the problems of syntactic semantics in general, and the problem of verbal government in particular, by appropriately coding all verbs found in the mathematical corpus.
