Abstract
The report provides an introduction to the theory of Large Elastic Deformations. Little in the way of detailed derivations is given. Rather, the ideas and results are given, referring the reader to the literature for details, in the hope that those who are unfamiliar with the subject may obtain (without excessive effort) a rough picture of the available information.
