THE VALENCY OF ALUMINUM IONS AND THE ANODIC DISINTEGRATION OF THE METAL

Abstract

The intention of the article is to show that Al goes anodically into solution as Al(3+) (not as a lower valency ion) and that during the electrolysis a partial dis integration of the anodic metal occurs. Disintegration of Al also takes place while reacting with H2O in presence of Hg.
