A METHOD OF DAMPING VIBRATIONS IN STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS,

Abstract

A method was devised of damping vibrations in structural elements, including the operation of separating them into sections or putting them together out of separate parts and also the operation of creating on the conjugate surfaces of these parts contact pressures which bring into existence the process of dry friction under strain or vibrations. The invention is distinguished by the fact that there is imparted to areas of the part or the structural element one or several curvatures and these are joining into one whole by surfaces bent in different directions.
