THE ECONOMICS OF PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF MISSILE GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT,

Abstract

This study is an examination of the economics of the preventive maintenance of missile ground support equipment. Several maintenance cost factors are defined and are systematically varied to show their effect in their application to preventive maintenance. The influence of these cost factors is examined. A simple formula for estimating the most economical and effective replacement time for preventive maintenance is shown. The replace ment time formula offered in the conclusions provides a practical method for establishing optimum missile maintenance reliability. (Author)
