FAILURE CATEGORIES OF GUIDED MISSILES,

Abstract

This study is concerned with the different kinds of failures which may occur in guided missiles. It discusses catastrophic and non-catastrophic failures; the degree of dependence in the occurrence of failures; the rules governing the reliability of guided missiles as a function of the reliability of the single components; and the confidence of the system reliability when such determination rests upon a finite number of tested units of each type of component.
