A REVIEW OF PROGRESS MADE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIBRATING SAMPLE AND VIBRATING COIL MAGNETOMETERS,

Abstract

The report reviews the development of vibrating coil and vibrating sample magnetometers. The measuring principle is compared with other methods of measuring magnetization. The principal advantages of the oscillatory method are shown as well as the main aspects which have to be considered if one wishes to build such an instrument. Twenty-nine references are included.
