A PROOF OF THE CONVERGENCE OF THE POINCAREVON ZEIPEL PROCEDURE IN CELESTIAL MECHANICS.

Abstract

A proof of the convergence of the Poincare-von Zeipel procedure in celestial mechanics is presented. Although this procedure, as originally developed by Poincare, was believed to lead only to asymptotic series, it is shown that for a set of frequencies of density close to one, the procedure actually converges.
