CHEMILUMINESCENT ATOM REACTIONS PERTINENT TO UPPER ATMOSPHERE STUDIES.

Abstract

This report is divided into three parts. The first discusses the work on surface catalyzed excitation, that is the catalytic production of electronically excited molecules in an atom stream using a catalyst such as nickel or cobalt. The second part of this report includes a discussion of the work performed to evaluate various materials for possible use in rocket experiments in connection with upper atmosphere studies. The third part of this report includes discussion on atom reactions. A list of papers published in connection with this work and related papers are listed at the end of the report.
