THE MECHANISM OF OXIDATION OF NICKELCHROMIUM ALLOYS,

Abstract

An investigation was made to obtain quantitative data on the heat resistance of binary Ni-Cr alloys and data to explain the different heat resistance of alloys in dependence upon their composition on the basis of chemical, micrographic and roentgen structural analysis. Investigated were alloys, having a composition of from 100% Ni to 100% Cr. The compositions of the alloys were selected in such a way as to be able to explain the mutual effect on heat resistance of larger as well as smaller Ni and Cr additions.
