ELECTRICAL DISCHARGES IN CAVITATION,

Abstract

It was experimentally established that electrical discharges are formed under the influence of hydrodynamic cavitation. These discharges appear in the collapse of the vapor-and-gas bubbles in the region of reduced pressure. The development of the discharges depends both on the cavitation-regime and on the dimensions of the experiment. The probable cause of erosion is the direct action of the electrical discharges and the chemical processes connected with them.
