EXPERIMENTAL APPLICATION OF TELEVISION EQUIPMENT FOR OBSERVATION OF STARS,

Abstract

The results of preliminary tests of the device at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory are given. It is shown that in the photography of stars with a diameter of the image of the order of 0.1 mm there is a gain in exposure by a factor of 70 as compared to HP-3 Ilford plates. Photometric estimates of photographs obtained from the screen of the video-control apparatus can be made with a precision of not less than =0.15 magnitude. Experimental photographs of spectra of faint stars were taken also. (Author)
