PRIMARY AND INITIAL PROCESSES IN THE BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF RADIATION (SELECTED ARTICLES),

Abstract

The primary and initial cellular processes forming the basis of the biological effects of radiation are discussed in eighteen reports which were presented at an international symposium. The symposium was organized by the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, with the support of the Department of Natural Sciences of UNESCO and the International Atomic Energy Agency. The reports, including general discussions, deal with the primary effects of ionizing radiation on molecular, subcellular, and cellular levels. The same material is reportedly being published in English by the Academic Press.
