ANALYTICAL INVESTIGATION OF COMBUSTION INSTABILITY IN SOLID PROPELLANT ROCKETS.

Abstract

Progress is reported on studies concerning the use of a fluid dynamic model for the combustion zone of a solid propellant rocket undergoing erosive burning. Work involved the debugging of a computer program, an evaluation of the numerical stability of the equations of a program for two-dimensional steady-state boundary layer analysis, and a study of the gas-phase kinetics of nitrocellulose-nitroglycerin combustion.
