PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE FOR TYPE CR-(XM-60)/U CRYSTAL UNITS.
Abstract
Bulova is manufacturing the CR-47A/U crystal units at 200,000 KC, 350,000 KC, and 500,000 KC. With respect to the CR-(XM-60)/U crystal units, Bulova has received Kold Weld Sealing equipment and is actively engaged in the procurement of Kold Weld bases and cans. Lead attachments by Ultrasonic Weld method rather than Thermo Compression Method will be pursued because of its adaptability to mass production. The above two study phases are considered the most important phases to increase the reliability of the CR-47A/U crystal units. Partial results have been determined in the lapping of crystal loaves.
