STRONG LUMINOUS SHOCKS PRODUCED IN SHOCK TUBES.

Abstract

A summary of research in shock tube spectroscopy is provided. The work has proved the value of the shock tube as a source for spectroscopic measurements, and has established a new technique for measuring absolute valves of atomic transition probabilities.
