RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW LASER MATERIALS.

Abstract

Crystals of Al2O3:Mn(4+), Al2O3:Cr(3+), Al2O3:V(2+), MgO:Cr(3+), Ga2O3:Cr(3+), Al4SiO8:Cr(3+), MgAl2O4:Cr(3+), MgAl2O4:V(2+), BeAl2O4:Cr(3+) and Gd3Ga5Ol2:Cr(3+) were grown for laser and spectral evaluation. The physical and optical measurements were made on the crystals which were grown utilizing the flame fusion, Czochralski, flux and vapor techniques. Recommendations are made regarding the potential for future study of each material. (Author)
